Jay Schlichte
Jay Schlichte joined the Spartans staff in 2015 as a graduate assistant working with the Offensive Line, which saw four players receive All-Conference honors. In the spring of 2016 he joined the defensive staff and will work with the Outside Linebackers. The 2017 season marks his first season on staff working with the tight ends.
He earned his Masters of Business Administration at UD in 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and Urban Regional Studies from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. As a Bulldog tight end he was part of three NSIC Conference Championship teams (2011-2012, 2014), four NSIC North Division Titles (2011-2014), four NCAA Division II Playoff appearances (2011-2014), with two quarterfinal appearances (2011,2014). During his time at UMD the Bulldogs combined record was 45-8.
He is a native of North Mankato, Minn. and graduated from Mankato West High School in 2011.
